When I began doing yoga, it was love at first pose.

My beautiful yoga journey began several years ago when it was suggested to me to relieve stress and anxiety.  I was often tired and overwhelmed trying to maintain a healthy work-life balance. I had tried other methods and activities but nothing worked until I discovered yoga.  When I began doing yoga, it was love at first pose. Yoga provided everything I had been looking for to relieve stress and begin a healthier lifestyle. There was a connection I felt deep in my soul that I had been searching to find.  The more I practiced, the more I wanted to learn and in 2010, I became a certified yoga teacher at the Infinite Light Yoga School.

Through my training, practice and teaching, like an onion, I peeled away the layers of my being that were affected by outside influences and found my true self.  I found that I was kinder, stronger, happier and more patient than I ever had been in my life.  Although perfection was never my goal, I was just glad to be able to find and accept myself, good or bad.  My whole internal map changed and I was having fun changing it.

Although I enjoy many styles and forms of yoga, I feel a special connection to flow yoga.  As I ebb and flow from pose to pose, the fluid meditative movements allow me to deeply connect with the unity of my entire being.  Flow yoga has such a graceful, almost-dance like quality that is very liberating. The pacing can vary based on my spiritual, physical and mental needs.  Each movement, each pose, each breath and the spaces in-between all bring me closer to the emanating light of my higher self. It is an amazingly nourishing feeling to move in the body in such a peaceful way that allows me to feel simultaneously soft and strong.

Yoga really has been my saving grace.  It has shown me how to live with the mind and not in it. Yoga is a complete restoration and balance for peace of mind and peace within the body.   Since embracing yoga, I have been able to find out who I truly am, which includes accepting my imperfections and celebrating my strengths.  Through breathing, relaxation, postures and meditation, I hope to restore peace, balance and strength to those who come from all levels of yoga experience.  I look forward to sharing my yoga journey.

Namaste,

Tedra
